Frequently Asked Questions

At Summerley Dental Practice we are often asked questions about our treatments, emergency arrangements, missed appointments, payment terms and so on. We have collected together some useful general information here to answer commonly asked questions like these:

Emergency Dental Care

Should you have a dental emergency outside the normal practice hours, please call the practice out of hours answer phone which will put you in contact with the dentist on call. You may not see your usual dentist but we will aim to deal with the immediate problem. During practice hours, we endeavour to see any patient who has a dental emergency.

Missed Appointments

We provide a range of appointment times for patients in order to accommodate your needs in this respect wherever possible. However, it remains your responsibility to attend any appointments you have booked. If you fail to attend or do not give 24 hours notice of cancellation, you may be charged for loss of surgery time. There is an out of hours answer machine for your convenience.

Payment Policy

At the start of a course of treatment, we will devise a treatment plan designed for your needs, and you will be given a printed estimate of costs. We ask you to pay for your treatment at each appointment. We accept payment in the form of cash, cheque and by credit or debit card.

Access and Facilities

We have a children’s play area in the reception. The premises and surgeries are accessible to wheelchairs and there is a disabled toilet. Home visits for patients who cannot travel to the practice may also be available. A free car park is a short walking distance from the practice.

Repairs and Replacement

Our dental treatment is provided to a very high standard. Occasionally treatment may need to be replaced or repaired. Our practice policy is normally to provide repairs or replacements free of charge if the treatments fails within 6 months. Please contact us immediately if you experience difficulty with any treatment we have provided.
