Born in South Africa and practicing in the UK since 2000, Christo is a University of Pretoria alumnus with over 26 years of experience and has a special interest in dental implants, minimally invasive care and restorative dentistry.

Known for his calm and gentle approach, Christo excels at treating anxious patients and building confidence in children. Beyond the clinic, he shares his expertise as a Clinical Teacher to final year students at King’s College London (Portsmouth Campus).

An accomplished athlete, Christo is a marathon runner who has represented England and GB at the Age Group Masters.  He balances his professional life spending quality time with his wife, Lizette and their two sons.

Paul studied at the University of Pretoria and completed his BSc degree in 1994. He then continued with his dental degree which he obtained in 1999, followed by a 2 year higher certificate in Implantology through the University of Pretoria.

Paul has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and prides himself in giving natural-looking aesthetic-dental results that give a younger, fresher look to any face. His gentle and reassuring approach provides a calming atmosphere for any dental and aesthetic treatment.

Paul is also very good with children and as a father understands the special needs and fears of children when they visit the dentist!

Rico became a valued member of our team in 2023, boasting an extensive tenure of over 20 years in the dental profession.

Possessing comprehensive qualifications, Rico is adept at guiding each patient towards their optimal oral health. His commitment extends beyond the immediate, as he educates patients on sustaining a lifelong, healthy smile. Rico’s expertise contributes not only to the establishment of oral well-being but also to the overall health of his patients. Known for his ability to swiftly confidence, trust, and friendship, Rico creates a reassuring atmosphere, endearing himself to both our patients and staff with his pleasant and positive personality.

During his residency, Rico achieved notable distinctions, securing first-degree Honours in Restorative and Conservative Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics, as well as Honours in Periodontology, Orthodontics, and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Committed to remaining level of contemporary advancements in dentistry, Rico maintains the highest accreditation standards. He consistently pursues ongoing education and has special interests in both general and cosmetic dentistry through programs such as SMILE FAST.

Rico’s comprehensive dental proficiency spans diverse procedures, including teeth whitening, tooth extractions, root canals, restorative crown and bridge treatments, removable dentures, and particularly, dental implants employing the OSTEOCARE DENTAL IMPLANT SYSTEM.

Beyond his professional interests, Rico nurtures a passion for travel and relishes quality time with his family, enjoying outdoor activities and savouring dining experiences.

Chris has been a valued member of the practice since 2006, qualifying as a dental assistant in 2009. He plays a key role in overseeing infection control and supports the team across a wide range of responsibilities.

In 2022, Chris expanded his clinical expertise by qualifying in dental radiography and was honoured with the BDA Education Outstanding Student of the Year Award for his exceptional exam performance.

Dedicated, reliable, and genuinely passionate about his work, Chris is often the first to arrive and the last to leave the practice. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys Airsoft and staying active in the gym.

Karen joined the practice in July 2023. She started dental nursing in 1979 and qualified in 1982 therefore has many years experience (more than she cares to remember).

She gained a further qualification in dental nurse assessing and tutors trainee nurses towards their NEBDN qualification. She also has qualifications in Oral health education and Fluoride application.

Karen loves working with nervous patients, including children to help with their dental fears.

Out of work Karen enjoys cooking, holidays and loves spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

Hollie joined the team in 2021 as an apprentice Dental Nurse and completed her Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2022.

She assists with general dentistry, orthodontics and implant procedures, helping to transform our patient’s smiles.

Outside of work, Hollie enjoys socialising with friends and family, going to sporting events, live music and photography.

Julie has been a Dental Nurse for 7 years. Her role involves supporting our Dentists, assisting them during procedures, maintaining a clean, tidy and sterile environment in which to work and accurately updating patient records.

Before Julie became a dental Nurse, she had previously worked in the Banking and Insurance sector. However, it was whilst living in Australia working as a receptionist at a Dental Practice Julie gained an interest in dentistry and after returning to the UK in 2018, decided that she would like to train as a Dental Nurse and 7 years later really enjoying her job.

Julie enjoys being part of a team where we all pull together which motivates her to always go that extra mile. Outside of her job, Julie loves spending time with her family, socialising with friends and travelling the world. She likes to set herself challenges that have seen her take part in the Brighton Marathon, climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, treetop adventures (jumping from trees!) In addition, the I360 skywalk.  After all that excitement, she is also partial to a decent pistachio ice cream!!!!

Amanda qualified as a Hygienist from University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, in 1993. Since then she has had a wealth of experience working in both the NHS and Private sectors of dental practice and joined Summerly Dental Practice in 2008.

Amanda has many and varied interests in her personal life, including horse riding, reading and keeping fit any way she can, whilst balancing a busy home life with her husband and two stepchildren.

Jo joined Summerley Dental Practice in January 2017. She is currently working with us every other Wednesday but hoping to increase her hours soon.

Jo is a qualified Dental Hygienist with many years of experience in both NHS and Private practices.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Tania qualifies as a Hygienist/Therapist from Portsmouth University in 2008. Since graduation she has split her time between private practice and the NHS Special Care Dental department.

She loves spending time with her husband and children, especially
listening to live music. She has lots of hobbies including silversmithing, sewing, reading and Pilates. Tania also enjoys dog agility with her cavapoo Nala.

Gemma qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2004 from Kings College London as part of the GRT Collaboration.  Gemma is passionate about the importance of preventative dentistry and love improving people’s confidence in their smile.

When Gemma is not working or driving her children between clubs, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music and exploring new places.

Mandi has been working on reception at the practice since May 2010. She started off just working every Wednesday morning but has now become a permanent fixture!

In her spare time, Mandi enjoys spending as much time as she can with her husband and her two grown up children. She loves to curl up with a good book, watch films, go to the theatre or listen to live music. Mandi especially looks forward to nice, sunny weekends when she and her husband travel around in their VW Camper “The Blue Lagoon”.

June joined Summerley Dental Practice in 2017 to cover our reception on Fridays and holidays. Prior to joining our team, she enjoyed working in a busy office environment.

June recently moved to Felpham to be closer to her family. She enjoys keeping fit, voluntary work and the theatre.

Suesanna joined the practice in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a nursing career that began in 2007. She qualified in 2013 and has since become a versatile and much-loved member of the team. Although she is usually based at reception supporting Mandi, her clinical skills mean the dentists often call her into surgery when an extra pair of hands is needed.

Away from work, Suesanna enjoys spending quality time with her children and socializing with friends.
